The 350th Squadron is a fighter squadron in the Air Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. It was originally formed in 1941 as No. 350 (Belgian) Squadron of the Royal Air Force during World War II. The unit was transferred to the Belgian Air Force, together with the 349th Squadron, in 1946. The unit is now part of the 2nd Tactical Wing and operates
F-16 Fighting Falcons.
The Belgian exiled authorities and the British Air Ministry agreed at the beginning of 1941 on the creation of national units. Many Belgians who escaped to the UK were posted to 131 Sqn and 609 Sqn. As the number of pilots and ground personnel (British) was sufficient, the Air Ministry gave the go-ahead for the formation of the first Belgian Fighter Squadron on 1 November 1941. Designated as 350 (BELGIAN) Squadron with the codes MN, it was formed at Valley with the nucleus of the Belgian flight of 131 Sqn in Wales on 12 November 1941. Sqn Ldr Thompson was designated as the first commander of the unit.
The Tactical Leadership Programme is a multinational center of advanced training for aircrews with the aim of improving the operability and effectiveness of the Allied Air Forces. In January 2026, the 350 Squadron was deployed in Albacete to provide support to this organization.
